Direct Real Estate
We invest in real estate assets with strong cash flow across multiple asset classes, including multi-residential, retail, office, commercial, industrial and land development in prime North American markets. Our direct real estate team underwrites, finances, acquires and oversees the management of these real estate assets that fit our carefully defined investment profile and mandates. To date we have conducted more than $4 billion in direct real estate transactions and are one of the largest private investors in multi-residential real estate in Canada.
Timbercreek Communities, our in-house property management division, handles all national property operations for our multi-residential equity investments in Canada including leasing, marketing, capital planning, project management, finance, property accounting, lease administration and human resources. Our capital improvements team specializes in targeted capital expenditure programs, major restoration projects, energy management initiatives and the implementation of asset redevelopment programs across North America. Our head office team consists of over 90 people and is supported by 35 regional personnel and 370 local on-site staff.
We have built an in-house development team dedicated to leading and executing on investment opportunities to intensify existing properties or that require ground-up development and construction of new assets. Our development capabilities span all commercial asset classes, including urban multifamily and mixed-use, as well as retail and office development. The team includes both development and construction managers who are focused on optimizing designs and delivering assets that are constructed to stand the test of time.
We are a leading provider of non-bank structured financing solutions to commercial real estate investors. Our debt investment team is dedicated to originating, underwriting and servicing debt investments. We have developed long-standing relationships with an extensive network of mortgage brokers and investment banking professionals. Timbercreek has originated over $5 billion in debt investments through both public and private real estate investment vehicles since inception of the debt platform in 2007.
Global Real Estate Securities
We have built an experienced and proven team of real estate professionals strategically located in key global markets including Canada, the United States, United Kingdom, Europe and Hong Kong. This comprehensive presence allows for a unique and deep understanding of local markets, enabling us to accurately and efficiently source, underwrite and monitor global real estate investments. Currently, Timbercreek manages approximately $1 billion in global real estate securities.
